There are few occasions in life when you need to hire a professional photographer for a portrait session. Couples and families who want to document your love, growth, and unity.  High school seniors who need photographs that capture who you are and what you like to do.  When you are a professional, you need a head shot and portfolio that allows you to confidently market yourself. No matter what the occasion, Melissa Lea strives to provide her clients with a level of quality and personal attention that is beyond their expectations.  With a keen eye for lighting, posing, composition, and emotion, Melissa will craft portraits for you that you will be proud to show the world and cherish for years.

About Melissa and her Portrait Services

Melissa Lea is a professional photographer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  For more information about Melissa's photographic history, please visit her photography bio.  Melissa loves the excitement of capturing a moment in time and emotions through portraits that are enjoyed for years thereafter. 
 
All portraits sessions are on location, at your home or an outdoor setting, using all natural light.
Sessions provided for maternity, newborns, kids, families of all types (including families with pets),
and high school seniors.  Professional headshots and portfolio sessions for artists, models, actors, actresses, etc are also available.

Consultation & Scheduling Your Session

The process starts with a phone, email or in-person consultation where we will discuss the upcoming portrait creation session. This allows us to get a sense of your goals and desires.  

Your portrait session fees are due when you reserve your date and time. You may reserve your session with cash, check, credit card, or PayPal. Payment must be received upon scheduling your session otherwise your appointment cannot be held.
 
All portraits are an outdoor location of your choice. Outdoor photo sessions are normally scheduled for early morning or late afternoon to take advantage of the best light. Midday sun is harsh and unflattering, unless it's overcast.  Portraits taken inside will be created with natural light or available light only.
 
Children do best when they are well rested and fed. Please select a time that doesn't interrupt your child's natural routine. Schedule your session before or after their nap and after a meal. Newborn sessions may last up to 2 hours to allow for feedings, diaper changes and breaks from the camera. We offer special newborn session times to accommodate your new family.  Pregnancy sessions are also available at an outdoor location or in the privacy of an indoor location of your choice.
 
When you reserve your session date and time you will receive additional information including clothing recommendations, session tips and studio policies. In the event of bad weather, sickness (yours or mine), your session may be rescheduled.

Ordering and Payment

Your images will be ready for your review within 1-3 days of your session. We will schedule a time to meet for your viewing appointment after your session. We offer a discount for orders placed during your first viewing appointment; ask for details. 
 
For payment, cash, check, credit cards, or PayPal are accepted. 
Payment in full is required when placing your order or special payment plans can be arranged.

Receiving Finished Images

Traditional prints, Mounted prints, and Photo CD will be ready for pickup or shipping within 2-3 weeks.  All images are professionally edited assuring perfect exposure, contrast, and color.

Session Fee:

*Session Fee is for time, travel and professional services.  It does not include prints or digital files.

$250 (due at time of booking) up to 4 people and/or pets.  $30 per additional person/pet thereafter.
 
*Book your maternity & newborn session together and pay one session fee of $350 ($100 savings!)

Session Includes:

* Phone, email, or in person consultation to discuss your session. 
* 2 hour session in the Albuquerque Metro area.  
    Sessions outside the Albuquerque area are available for an additional travel cost.
* 2 to 3 hours for newborns.
* 30 images to choose from: Images purchased will be professionally edited to assure perfect exposure, contrast, and color.  
 

*There is a minimum purchase requirement of $200 with every session* (In addition to the session fee)


* New Mexico sales tax is charged on all orders.  Cash, check or PayPal payments accepted. Melissa Lea has the right to refuse service to anyone. Prices are subject to change.
